Frequently Asked Questions (STAR-10R)
Q1: “What is the main objective of STAR-10R?”
STAR-10R is the only comprehensive Intervention for prevention of main Dementia symptoms. We not only slow down the
progression of Dementia from one stage to another and prevent additional symptoms, but also intervene before they
surface, without any drugs whatsoever! STAR-10R offers more hope to Dementia patients or residents who have, up to
now, been only limited to medication treatment or “symptom control.” Medication does not prevent future Dementia
symptoms; however, STAR-10R can!
Q2: “What is SEAD?”
SEAD stands for Symptoms Examination and Assessment for Dementia. It is a uniquely innovative proprietary system of
measuring various Stages of Dementia, independent of any other examinations. Healthcare professionals may utilize SEAD
as a supplement to any other method they may already use. However, SEAD is the most advanced comprehensive and
detailed method of assessment for Dementia Stages in existence today. SEAD is the ONLY dynamic cognitive evaluation
system in existence today, that is specifically designed for Dementia, whereas all other existing cognitive assessment tools
are static (fixed set of questions) in nature, which can potentially lead to a wrong Stage classification, resulting in
unnecessary and excessive medication! Of course, it is the patients' physicians who are the ultimate authorities in
Dementia Stage designation and/or determination.
Q3: “We have our own program at our Memory Care unit and we have developed it internally.”
Yes that may be, that you have your own program, however, STAR-10R is not a program!
STAR-10R is a system of Intervention for Prevention of key Dementia symptoms. We are not in competition with your
program. So that we both know, it is not the same, ask your program manager:
A: Can your program prevent Dementia symptoms before they happen?
B: Can your program prevent a Dementia patient from progressing to higher Stages?
C: Can your program progress be measured with industry standards, i.e. MMSE scores?
D: Can your program be proprietary enough to differentiate your community on its own?
E: Can your program be called an active Intervention ‘system’ for prevention?
F: Can your program identify what exact symptom(s) it addresses, if any?
The answer to all of the above relative to STAR-10R is absolutely YES!
Q4: “Would STAR-10R interfere with any other treatments that we may use currently?”
Absolutely not; STAR-10R will not interfere with any medication treatment whatsoever; however, it will most likely reduce the
amount of medication, with patient's physician approval, of course.
Q5: “Why would someone utilize STAR-10R?”
The Healthcare industry, Geriatric sector in particular, is going through major changes. Here are the main reasons for
utilizing STAR-10R:
A: Other than the standard services at various classes of communities, there are really no significant differentiators
between communities.
B: Communities are trying to tailor to the most sophisticated generation of seniors ever lived, the Baby-boomers, who are
not big fans of over-medication.

uncertain at best.

Q6: “Do you support all Dementia patients?”
We have designed STAR-10R to focus primarily on the Early Stages of Dementia, especially relative to Vascular Dementia.
Q7: “What do those R's stand for in STAR-10R?”
We have created 10 elements (R’s) that directly address the primary symptoms of Dementia. We proactively intervene
against the known Dementia symptoms, before they occur.
Q8: “How does one go about implementing STAR-10R?”
STAR-10R is intended to be implemented by either training your own staff, or have our professional staff provide STAR-
10R sessions. There are two options for implementing STAR-10R:
A: PAS (on-Premise Active Skills), which is the actual implementation of STAR-10R at communities.
B: ACT (AFFECTS Certified Trainer), one-time fee, which is ideal for private practices and/or educators.
Q9: “Are there any risks to implementing STAR-10R?”
None whatsoever; there are only positive outcomes to be gained.
Q10: “If we are offering STAR-10R, what should we charge for it?”
That is the question that you should ask your business owners or marketing staff; however, no matter how they price it,
both the seniors and communities will come out ahead, no matter what is being charged. A community may utilize STAR-
10R as an effective way to attract new residents.
Q11: “Where are you planning to offer STAR-10R?”
We are expanding STAR-10R skills and services in U.S., Canada and U.K.
Q12: “Do you make distinction between an individual Caregivers vs. Senior Communities?”
Not really! However, when we train communities, we try to protect communities' investment in staff.
Q13: “Have you actually produced test results on the improvements, resulting from STAR-10R?”
YES! We have conducted numerous tests implementing our Intervention, over a five year period, in test increments of six
months. In these tests, we differentiated the varying Stages of Dementia. We have achieved up to 38% improvement in
MMSE scores. It should be noted that there are no medications in use today that can improve MMSE scores by such a
margin.
Q14: “Can someone utilize STAR-10R trainings or skills towards his/her academic degree?”
STAR-10R trainings and seminars are not a degree program; however, we are accredited to grant up to 8 Continuing
Education Units (CEU), wherever applicable.
Q15: “How can we be sure that STAR-10R would actually work and where is the research?”
A: To the best of our knowledge, STAR-10R is the only system that can actually improve Dementia's patients' MMSE
scores! There is not a Dementia drug company that can actually make that claim!
B: We have documented noticeable improvement over a six month period.
C: STAR-10R is also observation based, professionals noticing improvement within as little as two months.
D: STAR-10R is a Preventive Approach, as there are no drug based cures for Dementia.
E: Each Dementia case is unique; therefore, research based approaches haven't worked.
